An Operations Management Firm providing consultation to restaurant, bar & foodservice businesses. We also advocate One Fair Wage for all tipped employees in NC.
Hypocrisy, greed & racism are the tools of supremacy. #Restaurants across this country have operated and made billions in profits from blacks, POC, #immigrants, women and poor whites. We will continue to document and fight biases in the restaurant industry. #Union#BlackTwitter
Who votes against their self interest? People like Chef Creole who didn't mind harm coming to other people, as long as they aligned themselves w/ white nationalism. After starting & operating your restaurants for 30 years, you got what you asked for. Your dream is gone! #karma
#Elections have consequences! This could not be any truer than with owner Wilkerson Sejour aka Chef Creole of Miami. Little Haiti is bracing for the end of Haitian TPS. Mr. Sejour voted for the president in 2024, so we wish him well on his trip back home to Haiti. #restaurant
The legendary and iconic Ed Mitchell a Wilson NC native & #pitmaster, has joined his son Ryan in business. Together they are working with True Made Foods to sell their sauces and rubs. You can find their product at all Kroger stores.
@FullServiceWkrs@jonathanmaze Restaurants going the route of service charges are lining their own pockets and selfish interest, not supporting their workers with additional funds to help them with tips. Until restaurants are reformed there will always be those that think as you do, that workers are free labor
@FullServiceWkrs@jonathanmaze If anybody is falling for the talking points of the National Restaurant Association it's you. My last comment on this & the group you represent is, restaurant workers are not free labor & therefore should be paid accordingly to job position with a living wage. It's really simple!
@FullServiceWkrs@jonathanmaze You and your organization don't believe in increasing the tipped minimum wage to align w/ that state's minimum wage, so that the server can collect tips on top of that additional income? That is the OFW approach to fairness. What's not to like? And you say race don't play a part.
@FullServiceWkrs@jonathanmaze You may live in a privileged bubble but I don't. The race being played as you put it are facts. And if you truly believe that a server working in a fine dining establishment makes a salary comparable to someone working at an IHOP, then you are delusional. I call a spade a spade!
@FullServiceWkrs@jonathanmaze Race and gender plays a big part in who gets paid a living wage. Those servers that work at IHOP, Waffle House, Applebee's, etc. deserve great tips too. But they are more likely going to be black or POC getting crumbs. In top tier restaurants the servers are mostly white males.
@FullServiceWkrs@jonathanmaze Just like you posted it is a guess. You don't have any reports on where the jobs cut are coming from or who was cut. Your organization doesn't believe in what OFW does & that's ok but protecting higher earners that work in top tier restaurants is a bias call. What about everyone?
My biggest pet peeve in the restaurant industry is people calling themselves Chef, when all they can claim to be is a good cook. You see this w/ social influencers & even real people. If your ass can't manage, organize, plan or inventory & can't create menus, then you're a COOK!
@RaleighGov The city like other growing cities decided it wants to pamper those w/ higher spending incomes. Add to that rent which has increased greatly over the area, overpriced food & drinks, higher utilities & high gas prices. Now you're building rich playgrounds at our expense. Shameful!
The @RaleighGov is far from having segregated #restaurants & bars, but they are on to something that could have the same effect. It's very obvious when looking at the city, that city council caters to the top 10%. Developers are building luxury apartments & condos at a high rate.
@RaleighGov Surrounding these apartments & condos, are designed land use areas w/ boutique shops and overpriced restaurants. The type of restaurant where the workers are making ok, but could never afford to eat there or live in the neighborhood. And maybe because this is not racial it's ok.
Restaurant service is not what it use to be but neither is tipping. The days of servicing your customer because their TIP was going to pay your rent, put gas in your car & buy food is over. Servers today are nothing more than glorified "food prostitutes", #restaurants are pimps.
Ownership has the responsibility to test what the spending habits of their customers are-create new menus & to know when expanding is necessary. I can't find proof these steps were taken. They were comfortable thinking inside their box & not being inclusive. Better luck next time
Cafe Carolina & Bakery located in the district area, is closing operation at the end of Aug. The question is why do so many #restaurants close, after being in business for 30 yrs? The most common answer is to blame it on the #pandemic. The real blame falls on ownership! #Raleigh
@RaleighGov The toxic environment at Brewery was singing praises from publications, COC, business leaders, city council & others while mgmt was taking advantage of workers. Patrick Woodson who is now owner, was one of these enablers in 2020. The guest at the Cary/Fenton location has no clue!
Restaurants in the @RaleighGov, are able to cover their tracks because of enablers. Brewery Bhavana was a #restaurant downtown #Raleigh that had a list of sexual allegations by employees. Kate Shields a mgr in 2020 when all this happened, referred to a black employee as a slave.
The #FDA is investigating 10 foodborne illness outbreaks that is spreading across the USA. Products like iceberg lettuce, frozen blueberries, eggs, soft cheese & powered infant formula are being recalled. RFK Jr fired over 10,000 people who were the gatekeepers to keep us safe.
As crazy as that sounds, they went further by being deceptive to their customers and continuing to charge upscale prices for inferior products. The people responded w/ negative reviews and less foot traffic. At this point the owners need to decide if they're ready to be managers.
Another one bites the dust! This is Flavor Hills second #restaurant that has closed all operations (Myrtle Beach SC). There was no warning or notice. So, what happened? Executive Chef Morgan was fired because the owners wanted to replace her scratch-made menu w/ Sysco bar food.
