From now on I am going start posting every trade I take, good or bad, you will be able to track all my progress here. Wins, probably a lot of losses, until I can definitely say that I am a profitable trader and then I will delete all these posts and gtfo off X.
Some of the mentorship pitches on here are getting ridiculous....
If you’re charging people to teach them how to make money, I think proving that you can do it consistently is a pretty reasonable starting point.
I went through the X posts behind one of these pitches. There’s plenty of confidence, charts and student messages. What I couldn’t find in the material reviewed was a complete, independently verified track record showing actual returns and drawdowns.
When asked for yearly results and maximum drawdown, the response was to keep personal financials private and talk about an annual target. Fair enough on privacy. But a target tells me what you want to make. It doesn’t tell me what you made, how much you risked or how ugly the losing periods got.
Then there’s the suggestion that the teaching can set someone up to keep making money indefinitely, and the confidence that the next trade will recover a losing period. That’s a hell of a lot of certainty without the record to back it up.
You can do everything right and still take another L. Your confidence doesn’t decide what the market does next.
The trade posts need the same scrutiny. I found a long idea that got a brief bounce, followed by a claimed BE exit and a later post discussing possible follower losses. That’s exactly why I want to see how the trade was managed in real time. A level on a chart doesn’t tell a follower when you actually entered, moved your stop or got out.
Some calls worked and losses have been acknowledged. I’m not going to pretend otherwise. But a collection of posts about wins, losses and recoveries still doesn’t tell me the net result over a meaningful period.
Same with hindsight charts. Drawing a high RR move after it happened doesn’t show that you took it. It can be useful teaching material. On its own, it doesn’t verify a live entry, exit or account return.
Student messages also need context. How many students took part? What happened to the people whose results aren’t being advertised? The seller has acknowledged that some stopped trading. A few positive messages don’t establish what a typical paying student gets.
I don’t need someone to be perfect. I need the claims to match what can actually be checked.
Personally, the public record I reviewed gives me no basis to pay for this mentorship on the strength of the earnings pitch. Before asking people to hand over money, show a properly verified record, the drawdowns, representative student results and exactly what you’re teaching.
Charging for education is fine. Selling that education with more certainty than your evidence supports deserves to be called out.
Some of you probably know who I’m talking about. If they want to challenge this, I’ve kept the original posts and links. We can go through the claims and the follow-ups in full context, indefinitely if needed.
The amount of unverified expertise being sold on X is getting ridiculous. If you want people to hand over serious money for a mentorship, back your earnings pitch with a track record they can actually check. If there’s a verified record I’ve missed, show it. Until then, I haven’t seen enough in the public evidence to justify paying for that pitch.
Earn the credibility before asking for the money.
Follow the #CapiChronicles for a verified track record lol.
