The key point is to recognize that the more you care for others the greater will be your own sense of peace. It's quite clear that where there is less kindness in the world, there are more problems. When we talk about love, kindness and compassion, it's not a religious matter. It's part of the fundamental reality of relations among social creatures.
@DalaiLama There comes a point when peace becomes more valuable than being right, You stop fighting every battle and start protecting your energy, that isn't weakness, that's wisdom.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ lived peacefully with non-Muslims and entered into agreements and treaties with them, as long as they were not hostile or oppressive. His example teaches wisdom, good character, and peaceful engagement with society. (Treaty of hudaybiyyah)
Your parents are a test for you and you’re a test for them. Accept that. Coping with difficult parents isn’t easy. They’re also human, flawed & weak just like everyone. You need to accept them for who they are. You can’t change them. The only person you can change is yourself.
