Im no fan of the British but this is a bit misleading. The King formally grants Royal Assent, but the last refusal was in 1708. King's Consent is a genuine issue worth scrutinising, but it doesn't mean he controls what Parliament debates. Criticise hereditary privilege without pretending the UK is an absolute monarchy. Its important that we discuss facts in our public discourse. Plenty else to criticise democracy on
