@AvaPortCharles He's good. I wouldn't be surprised if Gilded Bandit ran well, or even posted a mild upset. I do wonder how he'll handle the pressure of a G1 race in his first attempt.
I do think Crude Velocity is still the most likely winner in the Woody Stephens Stakes at Saratoga. If Civil Liberty runs to his best without the need of Lasix though, he will have a chance at great odds.
Most of the public focus will be on Crude Velocity and Solitude Dude.
Nysos will be my final selection in the Met Mile at Saratoga.
He's not a pacesetter, but he's on the rail. He might let one or two horses pass and try to sit. As long he can find room on the turn, that might be okay.
Maybe he's my single for the Met Mile - Belmont Double.
My question for Civil Liberty in the Woody Stephens Stakes at Saratoga - Did he improve in his last 2 starts because of natural growth and improvement, or did Lasix help him?
It's hard to tell. He did look good at Keeneland toying with his rivals.
I want to take a shot with Illuminare in the True North Stakes at Saratoga on Saturday.
I don't know for sure if he can win at this class level, but he ran well at Keeneland to mow down Durante, who went on to win the John A. Nerud, a G3.
He loses Prat. Manny is fine though.
@doggy2965@netsfan3 There are only so many horses that mathematically could be under 10-1. After Renegade, Golden Tempo, Chief Wallabee, Commandment and Emerging Market, there isn't a lot of room left.
I could see 8-1 at lowest for Growth Equity, but I'd be surprised if he went any lower.
I'll just say Growth Equity is my top Belmont Stakes choice.
His Peter Pan speed figure fits with the top contenders in this race. He's got tactical speed.
Distance pedigree isn't great, but he's 12-1, which makes him attractive. Few horses will look perfect on paper at 12-1.
@AvaPortCharles Powershift has the talent for big races, but it feels like he's being rushed into the Belmont Stakes off a maiden win.
It might be too much, too soon. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong and he sets a 49 half and takes it.
One other negative about Powershift that Sigi pointed out to me is that his good races came with Lasix on.
He didn't have the best trip though in the Tampa Bay Derby in his lone try without Lasix, so maybe Lasix off doesn't mean anything. It's still something to note though.
I never realized how StreamYard limits videos to 720p for free users.
Well I don't know how to record a handicapping video for free at 1080 with someone across the Internet. Is there a better solution than StreamYard? I guess it doesn't matter since I use OBS in single videos.
Here is what @Sigimen83 and I think about the Belmont Stakes at Saratoga this week. I'll go with Growth Equity on top, while Sigi prefers Emerging Market. Video below. https://t.co/S729x6T3UT
I'm conflicted on Growth Equity in the Belmont Stakes.
Visually, it doesn't look like 10F would stop him from running well, but I know the female side of his family is mostly sprint.
@BohlkeDillon I've looked at the New York Stakes a few times and I'm not sure I have a strong enough opinion on it.
If I come up with something, most likely I'll just tweet about it.
Here's my video below covering the Acorn Stakes at Saratoga, including analysis and final thoughts on Prom Queen, Counting Stars, Meaning and Always a Runner.
