@Pocket roundups are great but I use dark mode for my devices and I cannot actually read them anymore unless I change my system settings each time. There is no setting to adapt the settings to HTML only, or a place for this feedback hence this X/tweet π
Love my #AAPI creatives but are any of these adoption centered storylines actually authored by an adoptee? It's becoming a plot point / trope and it's not my fave trend.
Color theory people - is red and yellow an intrinsically aesthetically, erm, suboptimal combo (prove me wrong, I'm flexible!), or is this because of Ronald McDonald's cultural influence? π€
"...this feeling of discomfort no matter where you are, and not quite feeling like you belong." NAILED IT. Thank you @ihatejoelkim for validating this part of the #TransRacialAdoptee lived experience π
Appreciate @ghweldon naming issues with the depiction (however intentioned) in #LicoricePizza of Japanese women. This is the second #PaulThomasAnderson film that has problematic unaddressed stuff on E. Asian women. Those scenes do spoil films for me. Ty Glen for your allyship.
@JourneyToLaunch love your podcast and the most recent one with @JillianJohnsrud really hit me at the right time, thank you! The messaging on being willing to be misunderstood is so empowering. Gonna share with my community!!
That character on @ProjectRunway who left is the epitome of why I appreciate my BIPOC community. That was great kindness and amazing allyship @Prajje, you rock!!
@Freek_Vermeulen This is referenced in Alan Berkowitz' work on bystander apathy as well relevant to privately held beliefs' impact on groupthink which leads to gender based violence.
@outsidemagazine Love this podcast, esp when you have womxn, BIPOC & LGBT+ folks! Can you pls tag the guest host or name him in the episode descriptions? Can't find it anywhere.
WOW. The total naivete and deliberate risk management ignorance of #METI is horrifying. Thank you @michiokaku for your wisdom. Jeezus, METI, please STOP sending out flares with so little knowledge. I do not consent! Great episode of @nytimes The Argument π½
@washingtonpost is doing a MUCH better job honoring the victims of the #asianhate than @nytimes - thank you, #wapo. I am so disappointed by the Times' focus on the shooter. Wth. Considering cancelling with them. They could do better but they won't.
Is this a joke? A literal #Karen writes about profiting off of literal whitewashing ...thought 2020 was over? @CNBC really, you're praising this nonsense? https://t.co/K2O05v9XG1
