how much of a dumbass do you need to be to first threaten countries with economic sanctions in the form of tariffs and then try turn around and ask for their help in a war that you are perpetrating without their consent? A REAL BIG DUMBASS #TrumpyDumpy
I want to explain in a nutshell why the US debt situation is at a very dangerous inflection point.
Put simply, the US is now spending 40% more than we’re taking in. This accumulation of debt service payments has spiraled over decades and is starting to squeeze away buying power.
And if you run the numbers, there’s an imbalance between how much debt has to be sold, who the buyers are, and the likelihood of it all being bought.
Together, these two influences are why I worry about suffering an economic heart attack in the near future.
The U.S. support of Israel has cost Americans 17.6 trillion dollars when you factor in the compounding interest of all the foreign aid plus the “war on terror.” So if we did not support Israel, every American household would have an extra $200,000 in cash, let that sink in.
Divide your annual income by:
31,449,600 to see how much you earn per second.
Divide your income by 8736 to see how much you make per hour.
Divide it by 2000 to see how much you make per work hour (assuming ~40hrs/week).
It’s a reality check on whats really “worth your time.”
I believe that the good that people do has more to do with the good that manifests broadly in the world than people think, and I believe the same about evil. We are each more responsible for the state of the world than we believe, or would feel comfortable believing.
In my first interview with Arnold @Schwarzenegger, I brought up a photo of him at age 19, just before he won his first big competition, Junior Mr. Europe. I asked, “Your face was so confident compared to every other competitor. Where did that confidence come from?”
He replied:
“My confidence came from my vision. . . . I am a big believer that if you have a very clear vision of where you want to go, then the rest of it is much easier. Because you always know why you are training 5 hours a day, you always know why you are pushing and going through the pain barrier, and why you have to eat more, and why you have to struggle more, and why you have to be more disciplined… I felt that I could win it, and that was what I was there for. I wasn’t there to compete. I was there to win.”
I used to be pro-Palestinian. I thought Israel was wrong for carpet bombing Gaza and using siege warfare on civilians.
But then I ran into a very wise Israel apologist who changed my way of looking at things forever.
I was walking down the street and I saw him leaning against a lamp post, smoking a pipe as wise men do.
“Your shirt says Free Palestine,” he said from behind a plume of smoke.
“Yep!” I replied.
“So I guess that means you love Hamas then?” spake he.
I stopped in my tracks. I’d never thought of it that way before.
Could it be? Could my opposition to murdering civilians really be indicative of a deep affection for a Gazan militant group? Maybe I really did love Hamas and think everything it did on October 7 was great and wonderful?
“Is this really how I want to live my life?” I thought to myself.
“I — I — I…” I said out loud.
“Or perhaps,” he said with a raised eyebrow, “you just HATE JEWS??”
I fell to my knees.
Oh my God. He really had a point. What possible reason could anyone have for opposing military explosives being dropped on buildings full of children besides a seething lifelong hatred of adherents to the religion of Judaism? How could anyone possibly oppose siege warfare tactics which cut off civilians from food and water and electricity and fuel and medical supplies unless they harbored a dangerous hostility toward members of a small Abrahamic faith?
“Who… who are you?” I asked.
“That’s of no consequence,” he said, casually blowing a smoke ring through another larger smoke ring.
“But… but the children,” I stammered as my entire worldview crumbled before my eyes. “The civilians! They’re dying! Isn’t it bad that they’re dying?”
And then he went for the coup de grâce.
“Have you considered,” he said before a pregnant pause, “… that all of those deaths are the fault of Hamas?”
I fell flat on my back. The world was spinning. A trickle of blood ran down into my hair from my ear.
I felt all the anti-colonialism leaving my body. I suddenly could no longer remember why I thought it was bad to rain down military explosives on a densely populated concentration camp.
Everything went black.
When I finally came to, the mysterious stranger was gone. But his wisdom and profound insights into Israel and Gaza will always live on in my heart.
@FitFounder Don't put your health second to your career. Yes, you can spare that 45 mins in the morning. Don't drink too much (I drank a lot growing up). Eat healthy NOW as later it's harder to fix errors. Be good to other people. Stop being angry and look for the good in life. Save money.
If a man lives in the West Bank when he goes to work he needs to worry that when he returns his wife and kids will have been dragged out to the street and an Israeli living in his home
If you try and get him to leave your home he will shoot you and call you a dirty terrorist
This probably sounds too ridiculous to be real to many of you so look up Israeli settlers
They have done this at the same time as depriving electricity and fuel from hospitals and leaving their patients to die. Which the UK said was fine if you remember. The footage clearly shows the size of that strike, it was not a rocket. 3/4
They did this after announcing that their aim was to inflict maximum damage on the "human animals" and "children of darkness." Because "a hospital is not a hospital." 2/3
Israel gave a warning to that hospital that it would be bombed. They have given warnings to multiple hospitals, including Al Shifa, Shuhada Al Aqsa, the Quwaiti Hospital. They have been so clear about their intention to bomb hospitals. 1/3
