Lawyer Danstan Omari has questioned why a professor, doctor, IT professional, BCom graduate, or any other degree holder can be denied an opportunity to pursue law as a second degree simply because they did not attain a B grade in English or Swahili at secondary school.
According to him, once an individual has successfully completed a degree in any recognized field, progression to another discipline should be based on their academic qualifications and demonstrated competence, rather than high school grades obtained years earlier. Example, an Education graduate should be allowed to pursue Medicine if he/she wishes to do so.
For the first time, I am with President Suluhu on this. Why should she be forced to speak their language? Russia uses its own language, so she would need a translator anyway. Shouldn't she speak Swahili instead, forcing them to need a translator too?
