Labour has been soundly thrashed because its high tax, anti-growth policies not only betrayed its election commitments but have led to predictable economic stagnation.

A More in Common survey released today found 44% of Britons agreed with the statement: “The Government doesn’t respect people like me at all.”

People don't like being taxed to death, being forced to file tax returns 5 times a year, having to pay a holiday tax, stealth taxation grabbing more of their pay packets, or pubs closing due to over-taxation etc, etc.. It's not just that Keir Starmer is an uninspiring bureaucrat or that Rachel from Complaints is clearly way out of her depth, it's the failed high tax policies.

But Starmer's Labour challengers' response to the electoral rejection is to double down on failed policies & advocate even worse versions. All of the challengers to Starmer want to raise taxes and borrowing even more, & none of them have any coherent plan let alone any concept of how to restore economic growth.

3 more years of this? It's frightening.

5ARD DSD athletes are not banned from women’s sport because they have male levels of testosterone - they are banned because they are males with male levels of testosterone. It’s so not complicated. They are not banned from sport. That’s pure gaslighting fiction, & emotional blackmailing. They are free to race with other males. The real problem is they’re not good enough to win there. And they know it. The problem is saying ‘ no more cheating’ to these males & their coaches after 26 yrs of allowing it, at the detriment of female athlete rights. Who as usual are less important than men’s feelings.

@anon_opin I dunno, skiing needn’t be expensive. Been many times, never broken or dislocated anything 🤷‍♂️.
As for enjoying it, it’s a technical sport, you’ll never learn it all, each run is different. It’s the freedom of movement, fluidity, the right speed and the feeling of achievement.
