@SamBaudinette Oh and it's a different kind of book, very much a romantic take on the whole thing, but I'm personally very attached to Lipstick Traces by Greil Marcus, in case you want a more literary approach to it.
@SamBaudinette What I think makes Wark's book worth reading is her focus on the movement as such. Most studies - I think - cover the history of their ideas, the politics and aesthetics, but Wark tries to get more into how that worked in terms of group dynamics.
@SamBaudinette Michèle Bernstein's All the King's Horses is also a great read, mostly ignored in the studies. You could also look up the "other situationists" that made the Situationist Times magazine, it's visually stunning.
@SamBaudinette I recommend Frances Stracey's book Constructed Situations, and looking up Asger Jorn's various writings from the time, the obvious focus is on Debord and Vaneigem but Jorn is really great as well. The book by McKenzie Wark is a very good intro to the movement as such, too.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ben Morea (1941-2026), one of the most profound, courageous, and singular comrades to emerge from the 1960s revolutionary movement.
