New indie games are getting caught in the crossfire of the backlash over PlayStation’s decision to end physical game discs.

One of the first developers to speak out was Eat Pant Games, whose new platformer Teeto had its launch trailer flooded with comments about Sony instead of the game itself.

“OMG! Our game just launched and PlayStation posted our launch trailer! 400 comments, whaaaaaat! I wonder what people think of our game?? Oh… oh no.”

But it isn’t just Teeto. The launch trailer for Denshattack, one of 2026’s highest-rated indie games, has also been flooded with comments about PlayStation’s disc decision instead of the game itself.
