Man's worst form of poverty is to reject the opportunity to shower others with abundance.
You'll only get more out of life once you help others get what they want. Otherwise, stay infected with the greedy mind virus suffering the belief that there's never enough to go around.
Those of you new to conspiracy theories may not know that this stuff will drive you crazy. Not fun crazy. Crazy crazy. If you want to go deep, you need a sense of humor and some kind of way to pray or meditate. An exercise regime helps. Perspective. Spiritual, mental, emotional balance. You need to be leery of all sources of information. All sources. Everyone knows there are double agents and double double agents. Statements aren't facts. Association isn't guilt. Life is complex. More complex than you or I can ever imagine. Belief is not your friend. Find your purpose and faith elsewhere.
People on here argue over when is punk, who is emo, what is hipster. Some imagine beatniks had a social registry and a dress code. Reminds me why most people can't enjoy a solid schizo conspiracy theory. Have some fun people. Live a little.
@Paul_Heron_ Slouching Towards Bethlehem, Where I Was From also great non-fiction. Most Californians should read, maybe most Americans. Her fiction has a unique style worth study. Good to read this essay every few years. https://t.co/WU21UMLGvh
There is no shortage of "self-love" in the West but self-awareness remains in short supply.
More unconditional "self-love" will not resolve delusion, anxiety, self-loathing.
Stop lying. Seek the truth. Develop judgement. Face your fear and your envy. Take care of your business.
Many fuse mid century self-help psychology, Buddhism, non-dualism and Christianity (minus the Christ). I've grown up in and around this and now at middle age, see the consequences. Many single fragile people focused on loving themselves with no one around to love or trust.
Only grifters will "miss the days when the word ‘racism’ actually meant something."
White Americans are the least racist people in the history of the world.
There are other words you can use.
Glad we have reached the "exhausted endpoint of weaponizing race for power."
I think a lot of people have woken up to the conclusion that the only way to burn off the woke mind virus is to actually not care about racism or about being racist at all.
Pretty soon, if it’s not already happening, anyone crying about racism will met with the default response:
“So what?”
Do you really want white people checking out like this? Because this is the predictable, exhausted endpoint of weaponizing race for power.
Believe me when I say that we will all come to miss the days when the word ‘racism’ actually meant something, back when white people still cared about not being called racist.
Gen Z guys are already there. Once that word is completely drained of any real meaning or moral weight, we’ll all rue the day we let it happen.
@ChristianHeiens In fairness, they are so delusional and removed from reality, what is going to happen over the next decade will probably seem like far right extremism to them. In the 80's and 90's it was called competence.

This is one of many confusions that occurs when East meets West. You cannot love your self. That is not what love is. You can love others. Others can love you. You can come to know your self and accept your self. To love your self is to trap yourself in a delusional feedback loop
What keeps this going is simple. The mind tries to fix the mind with more mind. Thinking about thoughts, analyzing feelings, trying to understand yourself all day long. It feels useful, but it is still the same movement continuing.
The solution is to stop feeding that movement with extra attention. A thought appears. A fear appears. A reaction appears. And instead of immediately stepping into it, explaining it, judging it, or building a story around it, it is just seen the same way you would notice a sound in a room or movement in the corner of your eye.
One thing becomes obvious when this is tested in real life. Most of the problem is not the thought itself but the habit of continuing it. A single worry is usually not the issue. The issue is what gets added after it, the mental replay, the arguments, the predictions, the self-talk that keeps it alive long after the original moment has passed.
It is like hearing a noise outside and instead of checking what it is, you sit there building five different explanations, each one more emotional than the last. The noise is simple. The reaction becomes complex.
So the change is not a technique. It is interrupting that extra layer. Not giving every thought an audience. Not turning every feeling into a case to solve. Not following every inner sentence to its conclusion.
You start noticing how quickly things fade when they are not continued. A thought appears, is not extended, and disappears. A feeling rises, is not narrated, and passes.
This is where the obsessive self-awareness weakens, not through effort, but through stopping the constant continuation of mental noise that was never necessary in the first place.
This is a very important point that too many of you are forgetting.
We don't control anything.
The only weapons we have are truth and humor.
These are effective weapons, but easily blunted, and slopulists are doing their damnedest to nullify the only advantages we have.
