UCP are cutting funding for 23 women’s shelters, incl. 12 in rural areas.
They’re happy to spend million to pander to separatists to try & cling to power, but women fleeing domestic violence are left with less access to help that could save their lives.
That’s the UCP. #ableg
Catriona Le May Doan is a record-breaking, two-time Olympic gold medalist, a world record holder, and one of the most decorated speed skaters in our country’s history.
She’s a proud Albertan and a proud Canadian.
And she’s standing up to fight for our home. 🇨🇦

Danielle Smith just gave more UCP MLAs yet another raise — another $6,000.
In the middle of an affordability crisis and a massive deficit, this is the same premier who says seniors’ benefits and AISH are “overly generous.” She has the largest cabinet in Alberta history and has found ways to give bonuses to Conservative members outside of cabinet as well.
All but six UCP MLAs now receive some form of taxpayer-funded bonus. And we have a $9.4 billion deficit and no gas tax relief for the rest of us.
Every Albertan should be shocked by the news of one of the largest data breaches in Canadian history, involving their personal information allegedly being used by separatists and their leaders.
This is invasive. It is dangerous. And it puts Albertans at risk.
Any political party involved should be immediately deregistered and have its access to sensitive personal voter data revoked.
We trust the RCMP and Elections Alberta will investigate and prosecute this to the fullest extent of the law, and ensure there are real consequences for anyone involved in putting Albertans at risk.
I love the Calgary Expo. Not just because I’m kind of a nerd, but because it reminds me that everyone belongs in Alberta.
No matter what you look like, where you come from, how you worship, who you love, or which fandom you’re part of — you belong. You’re part of a community that wants you to be awesome.
And I’ll just say this… all those years I was Grand Marshal of the Parade of Wonders, we never had a weather delay. Just saying.
The independent Boundaries Commission consulted with thousands of Albertans before publishing its report.
Ignoring their report is cheating.
Ignoring their report is gerrymandering.

Danielle Smith used the notwithstanding clause 4X to REMOVE rights from Alberta’s:
👩🏫- 50,000 Alberta Teachers
🌈 - LGQBT+ Populations
🏠- Families
🛡️- Human Rights AND Charter Protections
This is the UCP ABUSING power to shut Albertans down before a judge can hear them
Today, Danielle Smith and the UCP caucus unveiled plans to rig the next election and silence the voices of Albertans:
A new motion indicates the UCP government plans to manipulate the election maps for the next election in their favour, and without any requirement to consult the public.
This has never been done in Canadian history. /1

There is a reason that we do not have MLAs decide on electoral boundaries. Tossing out the Electoral Boundaries Commission and replacing it with a UCP-dominated committee is not just a bad idea. It is really bad for democracy. Ask the US, ask Hungary. This is not normal!
Danielle Smith campaigned and still claims "smaller government" as one of the UCP pillars. Here are some facts:
Cabinet Size by Premier:
• Stelmach-19
• Redford-21
•Prentice-21
•Notely-12!!!
• Kenny-23
Danielle Smith-38!!!
Make your own conclusions from this information.
Are you against Alberta separating Yes or No?
I want Alberta to remain a province of Canada! 🇨🇦
I say no to separatists; all Canadians, you have a say in this as part owners of Canada. Retweet and take a stand! #Alberta
I’m ready to fight like hell for this country, and against anyone trying to tear it apart.
The richest man in the world wants Canada to become the 51st state and is now amplifying Alberta separatism.
So let’s ask the question:
Who is funding this movement?
Albertans deserve to know.
"If we're going to rail against equalization at the federal level, then we can't keep doing the same thing to our municipalities."
Last night, Council approved our property tax bylaw, complying with the UCP government's order to issue their largest property tax hike in our city's history. Despite our Council team approving only a 1.2% tax increase for city services like police and fire, Calgarians will see an increase nearly ten times that.
**You need to know that nearly half of your property tax bill goes to the province, in an equalization formula described here by the Premier.** The UCP has hiked property taxes by 57% in four years. Their latest 21% increase represents about $339 more per household. Chestermere and Airdrie will pay even more than that. By contrast, Edmonton homeowners will only pay $154 more.
Our Council team cares about affordability. We will continue to push for responsible spending while investing in core services like safety and infrastructure. Let's work together for a fair deal for municipalities and deliver transparency for where property tax dollars actually go.
Imagine if Justin Trudeau ordered Danielle Smith to collect a big federal tax increase through the Alberta tax bill. She’d be furious.
That's what's happening with the UCP ordering Calgary to collect the biggest provincial property tax hike in history.

@RobertPicardo I agree. Strong character driven stories. Great show. Episode 8 is one of my all time top 5 Star Trek shows of all the series
I liked your character so much I am having made the tunic you wore and already have the Fluevog boots and communicator badge so I can look like you
Not a single member of the UCP campaigned as a separatist in the last election.
But not a single one signed a pledge this year saying they love Canada and oppose separatism.
Now we know why. This is a separatist government and a separatist Premier. They don’t just pander to separatists. Many of them are separatists.
It’s time for them to come clean and tell Albertans who they really are and where they really stand.

@RobertPicardo I am a ‘real’ Star Trek fan (whatever that means) and I am saddened by the decision to cancel SFA. It is great character driven storytelling and Episode 8 of season 1 is in my top 5 of all ST episodes ever
Danielle Smith would never have revealed that she flew on private jets and stayed at luxury hotels, all funded by the Saudi Arabian government, if I hadn't directly questioned her about it last week.
The issue isn't about the golden cat statue.
It's about the Premier accepting all manner of lavish gifts from a foreign government without a second thought.
Twice the corruption with none of the competence.
We deserve better.
