@Its_lixie_ One of these artists (Beyoncé) had police refusing to be hired, PAID to work off duty a security for her tour… all because she performed a song…
@ed_dems This is worth watching but it’s interesting how she frames Hispanic/Latino voters as swing voters but not Black voters…
Black voters may not swing between parties but we do swing between turning out or not…
@Chuy1813562@charise_lee But what is the fight & who is actually in it? When given the chance to have a candidate rooted in the base, certain parts of the base said ‘naw actually we want someone who appeals to the other side’
Voting blue no matter who” isn’t a rallying cry, it’s damage control
@_RebeccaMarques It feels unproductive because a lot of the discourse is perpetually lambasting ppl about how “bad” Jasmine Crockett is as a candidate instead of a pro-Talarico argument or it’s calls for unity without accountability instead of reflection on navigating a multiracial coalition
this brother got something interesting to say about hypocrites and identity politics when dealing with black female politicians. And the racism from the Latinos and the white left.. day did Jasmine Crockett 2.0 same way they did come to Kamala Harris. I will not be encouraging my family in Texas to get out and vote for James Talarico he is John Federman 2.0. A racist Democrat, who are comfortable with racism and white supremacist..
The irony is woman is angrily explaining how her community has evolved from & won’t be doing a certain type of labor, as some sort of attack on Jasmine Crockett. But Crockett was saying the same thing to & about her community
@_RebeccaMarques I don’t know how this was not the understanding from the start… it was never JUST about her, it was about driving up turnout for the entire ticket…
@mavsmarie And before you get defensive, I’m hoping TX flips this cycle… but he’s demonstrated an inability to connect with Black voters widely & a complacency in the effort… it will be a huge weakness in the general
@mavsmarie In a way, Talarico himself… This is layered, but trust me when I say, what you take away from him in this clip is different than the message he delivered to Black voters…
