I used to ride motocross. Back when Honda came out with the first line of the Elsinore. 125. Then they came out with the 250. They actually came out with it in 1973, but it was for the 1974 model. Late 73. My father sponsored me. I had a practice bike and a race bike and a mechanic. Got to know Marty Smith out of California very well. My grandpa also built my own practice track. My father side of the family has been here since statehood. Mama’s side came in 1874. We’ve always had pretty much a good amount of land here. After a serious accident nine years after racing, I hung it up. Enough for me.
