Dearis Doll (Thai drag queen and performer at House of Heals, one of Bangkok’s most famous drag-show bars and LGBTQ+ nightlife venues) spoke about performing at Lisa’s birthday:
“I never in my life thought I’d be able to sing a Britney song in front of #LISA.
I was fully prepared to perform for Lisa and the event guests. When I stepped onto the stage, there was a spotlight shining right in my face. But believe it or not, the darkness couldn’t dim her aura one bit. I knew exactly that the beautiful woman sitting front and center was LISA.
She smiled and clapped. She was absolutely thrilled with my performance and the other dancers’. Especially when I grabbed a knife and wielded it like Britney. Lisa and her friends grinned, laughed, clapped with pure joy, and got totally into the show. It really filled the heart of everyone performing on stage. The more she cheered, the more she laughed, the more she smiled, the harder I danced. It was like pouring fuel on my energy for the performance. Lisa really loved the dancers.
It’s the biggest impression I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.
I got to perform on stage and bring joy to people, but honestly, that day, I was someone who received joy too.
Thank you so much, Lisa, for giving me happiness and all my fellow dancers.”
