Already discussed today is that globally we have experienced a temperature increase of 1.24 degrees, and the equivalent of 1/4 ice age in temperature change
Officially published in two fields! Finally able to finish the commercial upscale of my postgrad, and publish! Some of the first research into non-invasive tissue collection for pearl oysters. Check out the preprint

Great piece and grateful to be among such wonderful scientists! Interdisciplinary perspectives are so crucial in science, and I hope my story inspires other young science lovers to take a chance and trust themselves!

Today, weβve kicked off our launch of a Kenaf Industry for Australia. Seeds are in at our labs in Camden. More to come with scale across the Usyd agricultural footprint over the next few months.
Check out this interview I did with @Bayer4Crops Chairman and Managing Director Joerg Ellmanns. Touches lightly on some topics that I am truly passionate about.

Excited to announce my first publication! A review of research regarding heat stress in cultivated chickpea, and directions to improve future cultivars.
In climate uncertainty, we have to safeguard crops, and ensure stability and security for our farmers.

We're thrilled to announce Australia's delegates to the #YouthAgSummit who will help "Feed a Hungry Planet" at the November event.
The delegates will collaborate with peers from over 40 countries to discuss the future of food security.

Excited to be able to give an interview for the Countryman news outlet from WA! Discussed my research, chickpeas in Australia, and the opportunity to be part of the Bayer Youth Ag Summit. I'll post the results when we get it!
Iβm excited to share that I was selected as one of 100 delegates to attend the virtual 2021 Youth Ag Summit in November! I will learn from and engage with global leaders and fellow delegates to develop solutions for a more sustainable future. #AgvocatesWithoutBorders#YAS2021
So it turns out my next-door neighbours house got busted for growing (a lot of) weed. Given the size of the pile that the police were dragging out they must have been supplying half of Sydney.
Some anthocyanin action happening in the leaves of the desi chickpeas! Saw this in the field last year too. Surprising and beautiful to see such vibrant colour occur in only a few days
Glasshouse trial planted! 20 chickpea genotypes getting ready to sprout and grow so I can take some nice detailed growth and heat response data! Stay tuned for the next few months

Slightly less glamorous shots now. The chickpeas are starting to dry down and finish filling up their pods! In a week or two I'll be ready to stop watering them so they can completely desiccate. Then harvest!
Shoutout to Lynne from @SiaSydney for giving me some new "professional scientist" photos!
It's very easy to forget to get pictures of yourself during research, but they're so important!
