Speculation but I wouldn't be surprised if the WRN withdrew the court papers because they knew they were going to lose and were concerned of the implication that would have for their rights in the future

They could have set a precedent in court that might have affected GCs

In short, the court ruled @SexMattersOrg arguments are based on mere assumption, unsupported common sense, straw arguments, fallacious question begging, & a # of hypotheticals & unsupported counterfactuals rather than established fact. Essentially, they’re based on a lot of ifs.
