GST on pencil sharpeners has been reduced from 18% to 12% in the last GST Council Meeting.

Pencils are also chargeable at 12%.

My wish: Reduce it to ZERO

It is very common in the ICAI family to arrange visits to tourist and historical places and convert them into seminars, and all costs are borne by ICAI. But I believe this is the first time in ICAI history that rooms have been reserved for each press reporter present at the Taj Hotel, Agra, with ICAI covering all expenses. And the outcome of this press conference is that it was a total flop, and no national or local coverage has been given by the media. A matter of utter surprise is that it was all done with the consensus of the ICAI torchbearers. On the other hand, ICAI torchbearers have no time to meet with the Hon. Law Minister and request that he clear the new course proposal as soon as possible. Earlier, both torchbearers were out of India when members were having problems, and now they are busy with their personal programmes when students want help from them.
