I come from data analytics. SQL, Python, dashboards.
But I kept seeing "data engineering" roles and not really knowing what they built that I didn't.
So I built a complete ETL pipeline from scratch to find out.
Here's what I built and what I learned 🧵
Ever stared at your Excel sheet like it betrayed you?
You type one formula… press enter…
Boom. An error message appears like it’s judging your entire existence.
Relax. These errors aren’t enemies. They’re signals.
Let’s decode them
* #DIV/0!
You’re dividing by zero or an empty cell. Excel doesn’t do imagination math.
* #NAME?
Excel doesn’t recognize what you typed. Maybe you misspelled a function or referenced something that doesn’t exist.
* #VALUE!
You mixed data types incorrectly. Text + numbers? Excel says no.
* #N/A
No match found. Very common in lookup formulas.
* #REF!
You referenced a cell that no longer exists usually after deleting a row or column.
* #NUM!
There’s a numeric issue. The calculation isn’t valid.
* ######
Not even an error . Your column is just too narrow.
Understanding errors is what separates guessing from actually knowing what you’re doing.

It’s the last day of the year,
but not the last day to make payments for our January 5th Datafrik Bootcamp.
This bootcamp is designed for anyone ready to break into tech through Data Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Cloud Computing with practical learning and real skills you can use.
If 2026 is your year of locking in, this is your sign to start now, not “later.

Day 1 of 356
Solving Python and SQL questions
I spent over 30 minutes on this question trying different iterations. Most of the solutions got 5 of the 6 test cases correct except 1.
I eventually had to use the Internet and realized my mistakes.
Can you try?
Starting this new year, I intend to solve one Python and one SQL challenge per day in my journey as an ML programmer.
If you wanna follow along, follow me and turn on post notification. Let’s lock in together
As promised, to start your Data Analytics journey with me:
- Fill this form and I’d mail you the Data Analytics Starter Kit

You don’t need any IDE for your Data Analytics and Data Science projects when you can do everything in your Terminal using Qoder CLI
Let me walk you through a simple Data Cleaning and Analysis task using Qoder in my Terminal
A thread 🧵
Retweet and bookmark. You’ll need it!
There’s a ML roadmap repository on GitHub I intend to follow through with. It is “a curated list of Machine learning videos, links, projects and datasets to help you conquer the ML landscape in 6 months”
If you’d like a link n wanna undergo this journey with me like and comment
Day 21 of learning AI/ML from scratch
Today I started learning the math needed for AI and ML again. Started with Algebra and introduction to vectors and I’d like to say that the 3Blue1Brown guy on YouTube is a genius
Just got done with the Python needed for AI and ML. Learnt:
- Functions and Variables
- Conditionals and Loops
- Libraries
- File Handling and Exceptions
- Object Oriented Programming
Etc
Next up: Mathematics (Algebra, Calculus, Probability and Statistics)
