Member of the Senedd for Cardiff Central, @JennyRathbone, thanks members of the #Cardiff Taxi Trade for raising over £10,000, despite struggling financially themselves, during the #COVID19 pandemic.
@HackneyCardiff@2000jama
Cardiff Taxi & PH drivers extend their gratitude to @JennyRathbone for her valuable time to be present when the drivers gifted a cheque for £3k to @alikhlascec as part of over £10k raised by drivers in these unprecedented times of difficulty in the trade and her amazing interview
Great news for Taxi/PH drvrs in Crdiff, third discretionary grant from @WelshGovernment is welcomed. To show our appreciation drivers have raised over £10k for those who are struggling with food poverty and rely on #foodbanks across #Cardiff@BBCWalesNews@ITVWales

Presumably, thanks to pressure from ourselves and others, the @scotgov have seen sense and with immediate effect, removed clause in grant scheme that would've stopped many taxi drivers from having access to financial help. Thanks everyone who has supported the trade in this.
Nearly 1200 signatures in 2 days. Fantastic effort and for those who have signed, thanks for your support. Please share far & wide as we need as many signatures as possible to help us get the help we need.
Desperate times for our trade and we've still not had any help from @scotgov. Lindsay has been out for 5 hours today and not had a single job. Like Lindsay, all Scotlands taxi drivers are financially broken. Here's his story. #solidaritywithLindsay
@CardiffDrivers We're looking for people who are actively making a changes within community spaces and projects, or who just want to have the discussion! Link to apply here: https://t.co/EKsKOgeP0T #community#communityprojects#environment
Worth another retweet of this legalised corruption.
Why would Veezu Holdings Ltd (@veezugroup) - who run Amber Cars, Dragon Taxis, etc. - employ this talentless individual? To stop people like me from ever considering using their services?
Use @letDRIVEtakeU instead!
If your business has been affected by the restrictions put in place on Dec 4th, there is further financial support available through a Rates-bases grant and a Discretionary Grant. Details on how Cardiff businesses can apply in the link below. Please share.
Unite Regional Officer @AlanMcC4rthy speaking at today's demonstration where our members in the taxi trade were calling for Welsh Government support which will help them pay their bills, support their families and make their vehicles Covid safe.
Big, angry protest happening now outside Welsh Government offices in Cathays Park, Cardiff by the city's taxi drivers who are furious about soaring poverty in the trade and are demanding an emergency bailout from Welsh Gov. They say they've received no help so far.
Our members in the taxi trade have arrived at the Welsh Government buildings in Cardiff.
Their message is loud and clear Welsh Government sector specific support is needed now to ensure that drivers can get through this pandemic.
Unite Regional Officer @AlanMcC4rthy on BBC Radio Wales earlier this morning speaking about the impact that the pandemic has had on our members working in the taxi trade & why we're calling on Welsh Government to step up & provide a sector specific support package for drivers.
@Notsocommonsen3@NathanBowlesSSR @beatygul_beaty @Ioan_Dyer@thebarryhorns @letDRIVEtakeU Completely agree the huge majority dvrs at @DragonTaxisCDF are safe, dependable and trustworthy. As are the majority of licensed taxi dvrs in Cardiff. The whole trade is an integral part of the transport infrastructure not just one company. #NoMonopolyYet
@NathanBowlesSSR @beatygul_beaty @Ioan_Dyer@thebarryhorns @letDRIVEtakeU @veezugroup There is no issue with that whatsoever, and we know exactly what what you are trying to do.
You want to flood areas with your cars from whatever region they are licensed. The ABBA principle makes perfect sense, the cross-border hiring you are encouraging doesn't.
