Owen Karas finished second this past weekend with a NEW SCHOOL RECORD of 15:12.9.
Coach Brandon says there’s potential for him to place in States later this year, maybe even take the title.

That means next week at States (in Obetz, 11/7 at 3pm), Owen will face 13 other runners below 16 minutes. Tickets are $12 (online only) with free parking and programs for $5. Max capacity is 1500 people.
16. St Charles (does not advance):
1. O Karas 15:37 (ADVANCES)
71. C Hayter 17:48
88. W Borchers 18:08
96. D Ferguson 18:17
98. W Ferris 18:19
107. A Dunn 18:30
109. L Blubaugh 18:33
Owen Karas finishes first in the Central District Hilliard Darby race (15:37.11). This time is the best of all 3 sections. The Cardinals won’t move on to regionals next week at Pickerington, but Owen will (at 3pm).
I’ll admit, running at St Matthew and not the usual Westerville Community Center is a shake-up. Nonetheless, Karas and the Cards will race on Saturday at 3:30. The team is unlikely to advance, but Karas is bound to continue moving on!
Owen Karas leads the squad (and the race) with a 15:36. No other Cardinals below 18 minutes, but 5 men go sub-19.
SC Varsity places 2nd in the meet over DeSales thanks to the 6th runner tiebreaker.
Wil Borchers led the JV race with an 18:52 also bringing us to 2nd.
