South Korea have got progressively worse from game to game.
Against Czech they combined dropping movements from high to low with teammates making runs in behind, quick circulation of the ball, longer passing range not afraid to play a long pass in behind from deep, and superb technicality to combine in short distances.
Today theyโve been slow in possession with no urgency to move it from back to front, nowhere near vertical enough in possession, lack of runs in behind (everyone wanted the ball to feet), a real lack of rotations on the left hand side in the final 3rd in particular in the first half. Out of possession there was confusion in turning the press from zonal to man to man behind the first line of pressure.
They lacked a dribbler in wide areas, with Korea in a back 5 the width is reliant on the wingbacks as theyโre the primary width holders. Neither wingback excel 1v1 and when your entire game plan is to get the ball wide you need a dribbler in that area.
Hugely disappointing performance from a South Korea perspective. The worst part was there was little adaptation to fix this! Following the first drinks break Hwang (inside left 10) and Lee (LWB) began to rotate but that quickly stopped! Really poor.
Weโve only really seen them perform well against opposition who play a back 5 where they can manipulate the positioning of an aggressive outside CB through Kang In-Leeโs movement.

South Africa defended superbly, with South Korea offering little in regards to tempo it meant they could sit in a 4-4-2/4-1-4-1 zonal mid block and defend space to which they did to a very high level. The midfield would shift side to side compactly and quickly, they werenโt half and half on Kang In-Lee, they allowed him to drop deep and play IN FRONT of them instead focussing on defending the next action.
They maintained transitional threat and moved from defence to attack rapidly. So pleased they moved away from that horrible back 5 we saw vs Mexico.

@RustyNail1Zero1@Jylesss There is,if you move a lot of volume you save a percent with the subscription. So if youโre selling enough to cover the sub fee and exceeding it. It is worth. Also additional benefits as well along with that
@SonnyDaysLAFC what will going to the round of 32 do for us? playing like this will net us a 5-0 loss to canada
watching the last 3 halves of this team has not led me to believe anything will change
@BibimBallers should be 2-0 SA, regardless of outcome we have 0 chance against canada with these uninspring tactics.
hmb thought he was cooking benching son but nothing changing anything else up
