Just because people require care and support or because they are getting older, should not mean that their hobbies and interests stop
We should be encouraging people to live life to the full ๐
This is the cold reality of the care system, it shouldn't be like this. I've never related more to something. Why do we have to prove when we or those we care for are struggling. Having been on both sides, as the social worker and now the care provider, it needs to change.
Lockdown bedroom transformation for one of our housemates, who, as you can probably tell is a MASSIVE Strictly fan. Especially #giovanni
She was beside herself ๐๐๐ #supportedliving
Lockdown 2....Bring.It.On!
We have it covered, golden envelopes containing challenges, tasks and activities to keep our ladies busy!...lots of which are christmaas theme...too soon?...never ๐ ๐ฒโ๏ธ #supportedliving#lockdown2uk#COVID19
We are ready for Halloween ๐ ๐ป๐นโ ๐คก๐งโโ๏ธ๐งโโ๏ธ๐งโโ๏ธ
Its been a good distraction for our housemates, from that virus we don't need to mention ๐ค
Everyone when they walk into our home comments on how nice and "normal" it is, "its just like a family home". We want normality, integration, the same opportunities you and I have for our housemates regardless of their needs. Fund the right services, get the right outcomes!! ๐คทโโ๏ธ

โShe asked the key question - what are we funding for?

Yes, couldn't have put it better myself ๐๐ Exactly the reason we have set up what we have, it was a battle to get here and the battle is still ongoing. A huge struggle as both a provider and carer of someone we just want to be able to live a normal, happy, fulfilled life.

Sending big purple love to anyone who cares for someone affected by #epilepsy, especially through this period of extra challenge in lockdown. We know how challenging & rewarding caring for someone can be & our thoughts are with you this #CarersWeek and always ๐ #CarersWeek2020
This #CarersWeek we are reminded that 35% of people with epilepsy have uncontrolled seizures and cannot be left alone. Weโd like to give a shout out to all the mums, dads, brothers, sisters and professional carers who provide 24/7 round the clock care. 1/2
One of our housemates recognised it was #carersweek2020 through her love of the news! And decided to do a picture for her Mum and Dad to say thanks, she wanted us to share it with you all ๐๐ฅฐ
Caring for someone can be a stressful, full-time commitment that affects a carerโs wellbeing. Carers are important & without support it can feel very isolating. This #CarersWeek find out more about what support is available https://t.co/HF4IqGF9yy #TEWVCarers@TEWV ๐ โค๏ธ๐
