Two Friday's ago, my sister-in-law went to the emergency room with a severe headache.

The headache had only lasted 3 days, but her friends insisted she go get it checked out. They ran tests on her, and found that she had a huge brain tumor in the front-right of her head, that needed to be removed immediately.

The tumor had shifted the midline of her brain and was putting a dangerous amount of pressure on it.

This past Friday (a week later), she had successful surgery to remove the tumor, but she will not be able to work for several months. The medical bills are extraordinary, and she needs someone to care for her 4 dogs while she endures a long road to recovery.

💔🐾 It's a day of tremendous sadness as we witness an act of unthinkable cruelty unfolding in Faisalabad. The Municipal Corporation has commenced a horrifying campaign of dog culling via poisoning that's set to continue for the next month. It's beyond disturbing to see the cheerfulness with which this news is being received and shared across social media platforms.

What's more distressing is the apparent involvement of higher authorities in this grievous act. Despite numerous complaints, they remain silent and unresponsive, and the orders of the Higher Court are shamefully disregarded.

Every single day, we will be forced to bear witness to the agonizing deaths of hundreds of innocent dogs - mothers, their puppies, even those expecting new life. This is a reality too brutal for any society to accept.

Our government could put an end to this barbaric act if we all stand together to raise our voice against it. Yet, alarmingly, it seems those celebrating this cruelty are more numerous in our society.

I urge you, for the sake of our innocent canine friends, don't allow the municipal workers to poison the dogs in your streets. There are more humane ways to manage the stray population.
