Fixing #socialcare I hope today's announcement brings: long-term and sustainable funding for social care; a simpler and fairer social care system, higher pay for the social care workforce, an end to people having to sell their homes to pay for care.
The clock is ticking on those working in care homes to receive their vaccinations. ๐โฒ๏ธ

Words matter... what we say to ourselves,
what we say to others, what we say about others,

Dementia can affect motor skills and vision, meaning that some people living with dementia may struggle with tasks like using a knife and fork or making a cup of tea.
Understanding how dementia may affect someone in this way allows us to look for ways to provide better support.
The use of words such as โtoiletingโ, โfeedingโ, โservice userโ & โchallenging behaviourโ depersonalise & disrespect people across health & social care services & can contribute to institutional practice.
Does this remain a challenge? Interested to hear your views.
