Stop asking why it’s taking so long. Some things aren’t delayed but they’re being built properly. A house doesn’t rise overnight and neither does a man.
You compare your chapter one to somebody else’s chapter ten and call yourself behind. You’re not behind. You’re just early in your own story. The pressure you feel right now is the same pressure that shapes everything worth having …diamonds, muscle, character. None of it comes easy and none of it should.
Keep showing up. Keep refusing to quit quietly. The version of you that makes it out doesn’t exist yet but he’s being formed in exactly this season you want to skip.
Trust the process. Respect the timing. Your time is coming, not because you got lucky, but because you refused to stop.
Good morning and have a great day guys👏
Happy Father’s Day to the men who show up.❤️👏
Not the ones wey just dey supply money and dey absent for everything else. The ones who pick up the phone at 2am. The ones who go through hell silently so their children only inherit the gold side of their struggle. The ones who teach by example, not by lecture.
Fatherhood is not a title you carry. It’s a debt you pay daily in patience, in presence, in the small unglamorous moments nobody claps for. The school run. The exam prep. The “I’m proud of you” said out loud, not just felt in the heart.
To every father building a legacy he may never fully see your sacrifice is not invisible. Your children will become the proof of what you poured in.
And to the men still learning how to father because nobody taught them, today is a good day to start. It’s never too late to show up.
Happy Father’s Day. To the present ones, the trying ones and the ones still healing from the fathers they never had.
You are the one who would make the move.
You are the one who would plan the date.
You are the one who would fund it.
If you are stupid enough, you are the one who will kneel for a ring you used your hard earned money to get to be accepted.
You are the one who will fund the wedding and do the runaround.
You are the one who will stay up at night, every night, figuring how to make money to perform your responsibilities as a man as society won’t spare you anything.
You are the one the world holds responsible for the security and safety of the home.
You are the one who does the rigorous work in and outside the home. You are the electrician, the Doctor, the plumber, the security man, the one with the big memory never to forget birthdays and every little detail or you face trouble and nagging or silent treatment.
You are the one who bears responsibility for her family difficulties. It is not written but it is expected.
On bed, you do the work during mekwe. You are the one who has to adjust to her body language/mood when she wants a child. At best, you BOTH want a child and you BOTH have sex.
When the child is born, it is “HER CHILD” and if she gets upset, she takes HER CHILD/CHILDREN with her (if they are actually yours anyway).
Then if she doesn’t leave with the children, she reminds you of all she went through “to make you a father” while all you had to do was NOTHING. Just a penis. She carried for 9 months. Pushed. Breastfed. Had insomnia. Body changes. All that sacrifice just to make you a Dad cos it was only you who wanted a child and wanted to marry. She did you a favour for which you owe her your life and servitude from eternity unto all eternity.
If you talk too much, she gaslights you, waits till the children grow up and make them see how “absent” you were in their upbringing and she, the heroine.
Possible loneliness and aloneness in your old age. A futile journey you really didn’t have to embark on.
YOU ARE NOT BEHIND.🔥
Stop measuring your life against someone else’s highlight reel.
The person you’re comparing yourself to has battles you know nothing about. Scars you can’t see. Nights you weren’t there for.
You are not behind.
You are not too late.
You are not too broken.
Some of the greatest comebacks in history started at the point where everything looked finished.
The problem isn’t your situation.
The problem is you’ve been listening to the wrong voice.
That voice that says you missed your chance.
That voice that says you’re not smart enough, not connected enough, not ready enough
Silence it.
Your worth was never attached to your wins.
Your value was never determined by your speed.
Some seeds take longer to grow and still produce the greatest fruit.
Stop apologizing for where you are.
Start owning who you’re becoming.
The right people will find you.
The right doors will open for you.
The right season is coming for you.
But you have to stop shrinking yourself to fit into spaces that were never designed for you.
You were built for more.
Act like it.
Good morning and do have a great week. 🙏🏾
