Police have released bodycam footage from the first moments after yesterday’s Russian strike on a kindergarten in Kharkiv.

In it, officers are seen evacuating terrified children from the basement. The kids are visibly shaken. their building had just exploded above their heads.

Watch it with the sound on, even if you don’t understand the language. Every human can recognize the terrified screams of a child and the desperate cry of “Mama!”

Towards the end, a little girl asks the officer carrying her to safety, “I’m not going to die, am I?” He comforts her, and she replies, “Thank you very much” with a composure only a child raised in war could possess.
