Doing PhD about vocal communication in common marmosets, figuring out what and how to do next, relaxing by growing vegetables in my garden and loving science
I will go through my literature and see what I find. You can DM me if you want to chat about what is especially interesting to you, might be helpfull to come up with ideas...
@SimonWTownsend@cheekybabbler might have suggestions as well?
@SG_PighD I once used added up z-score values, but the values were highly correlated, it was only a preliminary result and I am not yet sure whether it was the best measure... But I am glad to see what other suggestion there are!
We need some primate photos for the EFP website, and everyone needs to be cheered up, so please post your favourite primate photos (if you are happy to have them appear on the website)
Extra health considerations are relevant in both field and captive settings, to protect both the primates we are studying and the people with whom we work, especially during these times of increased risk. We will be posting further news and links soon. 2/2
Women academic friends with children: I spoke to a prospective graduate student today who was told by a male professor in her department that if she wanted children, she might as well not even shoot for a PhD. Share your stories in this thread to prove he's wrong.
We clearly can’t trust toy companies to encourage young girls into science so it’s our job to provide role models they can look up to. If you’re a Woman in STEM feel free to drop your bio below so we can use you as examples of women girls can aspire to be!
