@joshmcgoo You’ll never forget it again after seeing a baclofen OD or bad withdrawal. You can see the pre and post synaptic effects in action real time!
@thatgirl409 It’s essentially the #1 test question about trazadone side effects for step 1/2, to the extent that several of my classmates referred to it as “trazabone” 🤷♀️
@temafudge Completely unacceptable! The purpose of med school is to LEARN. And it will be entirely difficult to learn if you’ve crashed your car into a ditch. We had our med students stay home yesterday and join us for journal club over Teams.
@AshleyGWinter @brynathomson No idea why we don’t use patient controlled nitrous oxide for short but intense procedures like HSP, D&C, IUD placement etc. it’s super safe and would be a great middle ground between MAC and nothing!
@DrGRuralMD Tox fellow here. Not so much a groan as an angry shout into my phone when I saw this. So many things wrong with this!! A) Tramadol is “pharmacologically promiscuous” hot garbage. B) CHOCOLATE FLAVORED?!? I see seizing, apnic children in my future 🤦🏼♀️
@olsonplanner Currently I have student debt and call, so I’d be thrilled to get rid of either one! But if I had to decide, I’d get rid of the student debt.
@mowwyjane Also I did an ICU rotation 4th year and it was really helpful! I highly recommend seeing if they will let you do a week of nights. Less rounding and more trouble shooting when things happen unexpectedly.
@mowwyjane I did an ID rotation March of my 4th year. It was fairly busy- 7a-5 p but only M-F. I actually think it was a good strategy for me to keep busy before match. Otherwise I would have just been a nervous wreck 24/7. Do what works for you!
Friends, avoid @MarriottIntl Homes and Villas… Web site crashed part way through booking, so we ended up booking elsewhere. Except unbeknownst to us it apparently went through on their end? They’re refusing to refund, won’t call us back and are now accusing us of lying!
@olsonplanner I’m a fellow and have to pay $120 a month for parking. Considering that I make PGY-5 salary and I have zero choice in my parking, it stings quite a bit…
@DocElovitz @sciliz Urg. Breaking bad news is the worst. I’ll never forget having to tell someone in their 30s who came to the ER for belly pain that they actually likely had colon cancer. “I can’t guarantee it’s going to be ok, I can guarantee we will be here for you every step of the way.”
