The wonderful school I work in serves a disadvantaged community and I am utterly heartbroken for many of the students who have been negatively affected by a badly flawed algorithm. Yesterday was the worst day I have experienced in my career as a teacher. #AlevelResults
@drcsneddon I taught my son for 2 years. It was a real privilege as I got to see him in a different light. Prior to teaching him my measure of a good lesson was ‘would I have been happy if my son was in that lesson’, when I taught him it had to be good enough. It made me up my game! Enjoy it
@funkijimpow No single CPD has led me to change my practice overnight but I have taken away many, many things in sessions over the years that have allowed me to learn, develop and improve as a teacher.
Can anyone in a STEM related field support one of my amazing science students with her mentoring project for students in Kosovo? 1 hour a week for 3 weeks in August. #STEM#STEMeducation#edutwitter
Excellent final presentation in the Science Conference from @Mr_Raichura on Explicit Instruction. I love the idea of atomisation of key ideas. Lots to think about. #senecacpd
@Jimmy_McFoz I remembered another. A year 10 biology lesson on genetics, I overheard 2 girls chatting, I went over to get them back on track with the work only to overhear one of them say “it’s true, we’re dissolved from monkeys “ 🙊
@Jimmy_McFoz Year 7 lesson on Forces. Checking prior knowledge I asked them if they could name some forces. I got push, pull, friction before they ran out of ideas. Then one child eagerly put his hand up and completely seriously said “Jedi”. 🤷🏽♀️ He wasn’t wrong
