The UK Govt needs to either step in with funding for those businesses affected or force a close down and allow them to claim on insurance. This half house approach will just put many businesses out of business!!

My council week ahead is like no other I’ve had, we have Extraordinary Full Council over the floods, normal Full Council to set budget for year ahead, briefing update on Coronavirus, flood recovery board & Cabinet briefing plus residents meeting in my ward. Plenty of reading....
Fantastic effort, a number of supermarkets have been supporting the community appeal and the donations have been pouring in. Almost 700 flood hit families will benefit from this.
[2/x] river Taff at Sion street Pontypridd has increased a little. Still a ways to go before overflowing. should be ok tonight unless the weather gets a lot worse.
[3/x] monitoring the levels from home, the Pontypridd River Taff station is increasing at a steady rate of 1cm every 5 minutes and has been doing so since around Midnight GMT.

[4/x] At it's peak on the 16th, it was at 5.3m, with around 3.5m being level with Sion St Pontypridd - if the rate of increase stays the same, i estimate around 3.5 - 4 hours to raise 50cm. If it increases, it'll take less time. Personally i hope it starts dropping soon.

The @WelshLabour Government is providing funding towards the clean-up and is working with local councils to help people deal with the effects of the flooding.

All schools will open as normal on Monday, Feb 24.
A uniform hardship fund of £100 per child will be available to any child whose home is affected by internal flooding (on top of the £500 Community Flood Recovery Grant – Hardship Payment). More details will follow in due course
