Don will be fondly remembered by many who played against him across the EVCL & even more so by his teammates & by club members past and present who got to know him for the gentleman his was.

Our thoughts go out to his beloved wife Madge & the rest of the family.

Today we said our final goodbyes to a true gent and all time great of the club Donald "Don" Renyard.

Don a former player & long serving captain of the club, was an ever present over the years for Carleton C.C. & formerly Hawksdale C.C.

Don also held several positions on league committees such was his devotion to the game & after his playing days were over, he continued to be an active member within the club as chairman, groundsman & fan of the team, following us around the grounds rarely ever missing a game

6 out of our last 9 games across both leagues now been called off due to the rain. We love the British summertime ☔️

That’s the midweek @CDCL_T20 league finished for another season. A tricky one for the lads being in the top league this year but plenty of positives to take!

Shame during the 2nd half of the season we were only able to play 2 out of the 6 games due to the weather ☔️

After 2 important league wins, our attention turns to the cup where we travel to @LangholmCC for The Hundred round robin against themselves and @applebyedencc 2s. On Astro because of the weather so good luck to the bowlers today 😬

Not bad for someone who said pre season they weren’t going to bowl this year. First time given the ball on a weekend and this happens. Top work @AJSSmith90 👏🏼👏🏼

First weekend game of the season at Parklands today as we welcome @TempleSowerbyCC. Jim takes over the captaincy for today with Al very excited to take the gloves 🧤. Hopefully we manage to get back to winning ways today. #Hawks 🦅

The Hawks were beaten by 15ish runs tonight. Fielded the best we could with 9 men with another great bowling performance from the Dr. Stu and Harry took us close with an 80odd run 5th wicket partnership.

It’s another away matchday as our ground still isn’t quite ready, this time away at Patterdale. First weekend game of the season for Anoop and Tyler. 🦅

We made it 2/2 last week with a 2 wicket win vs @KStephenCC 2s. Thanks to Kirkby Stephen for sharing their fielders with us to make a game of it. Big up Dr. Jay for his 5fer and to @AJSSmith90 for a solid 40* to guide the us home.

Onto Patterdale tomorrow to try make it 3/3. 🦅

Brilliant start to the EVCL campaign for the Hawks with a 7 wicket win!

Great performances all round. Stand out moments were Jim & Dr. Jay both taking 2 wickets in an over, and Jim and Saiju with a 56 run opening partnership.

Onto Kirkby Stephen next week! 🏏
