@EngChessTrack No losses! 4 wins and 2 draws according to Chess Results and Lichess. A good score given the added pressure of playing board 1 in this team event.
@GMIanRogers Ah yes, Boris was world class at railing against the authorities without pushing them over the edge. The way he handled his move to France was expertly done, and I seem to remember he was one of the few who didn't sign the petition against Korchnoi.
@MarkTWIC Hi Mark. When I click the link, I see the contents and if I choose 21) Commonwealth Ch. it takes me to 21) Forthcoming Events, which according to the contents should be 36). Is there some error, or am I missing something?
@DavidHowellGM Way too defensive with Southgate. Play to your strengths. Watkins and Palmer up front, then Gordon, Foden, Bellingham, Saka across the middle, with Rice sweeping in front of Stones, Guehi, Konsa. That's a team that scores goals.
@alanshearer@TheAthleticFC It couldn't be more obvious. Palmer playing off Harry to take some of the heat off him. Then Gordon, Foden, Bellingham, Saka in MF, and Rice sweeping in front of a back three. Gareth needs to play to his strengths and accept some risk.
@dgriffinchess Yes, it's a huge loss. The quick and easy browsing of standings and board match-ups across a broad range of events was a real gift. RIP Chess24.
@dgriffinchess Thanks for a very nice article. If you were to combine a few of these into a book, much like Harding's Eminent Victorian Chess Players, I'm sure it would be a great success. Soltis may have tackled the biggest names, but the lesser lights are also intriguing.
