We took our time to decide how AI would play out at @sketch. And that’s because we wanted to make sure it’s right for our audience of designers.
Today we share it with you all.
Not only have we been asked about @sketch & AI stance, We've also been discussing this a lot internally.
Today I and @pieteromvlee share our stance as creative makers, read more ➡️ https://t.co/DWcio1mnAs
Prototyping just keeps on getting better and better at @sketch. Check out all that Smart Animate promises, and some new updates and improvements in our latest release.
🆕 in Sketch: Smart Animate, easy Library replacements, better PDF exports, all-new web app UI, better dev handoff, and so much more!
Our latest update brings a bunch of new features and improvements, starting with a new Prototyping feature…
Smart Animate
We’ve had plenty of requests to bring animation to Prototyping — so we’ve done just that.
Smart Animate looks for layers with the same name across different Artboards and animates the changes between them. If you’ve used Magic Move in Keynote, you’ll find this pretty familiar!
If you want to see Smart Animate in action, check out our blog post where we’ve run through a few examples of how you can bring it into your designs: https://t.co/cMmLh68sSD
As part of Smart Animate, we’ve added easing and duration options for transitions, and introduced a new transition — dissolve.
Easy Library swaps
You now have a couple of ways to swap the underlying Library and replace the Components in your document.
You can choose to replace all Components, a single Component type or your own custom selection of specific Components. This one is super handy if you’re doing things like theming, or designing for dark and light modes.
Color Variables in gradients
We know, this one has been a long time coming. There’s not much more to say on this one, but we’re glad it’s here now — and we hope you are too!
Better PDF exports
You can now choose which Artboards to export, optionally add Artboard titles and render Artboards as bitmaps for more precision. Also, for Workspace documents, you can include all comments in your PDF or as a separate CSV file.
Sketch en español
Di ‘hola’ a diseñar en español. A partir de ahora, podrás usar Sketch en español e interactuar con la interfaz de manera más familiar e intuitiva. (For non-Spanish speakers: That’s us explaining you can now use Sketch in Spanish.)
All-new web app UI
Following on from our document view refresh, we’ve given the rest of the web app’s UI an overhaul. There’s a new font (Inter, in case you’re wondering), new iconography, and new thumbnail styling for a greater sense of hierarchy.
Better developer handoff
Developers using the web app for handoff can now export any layer in a document without it being set to export in the Mac app first. You can set your export size/scale, format and filename prefix/suffix — all within the browser.
…and so much more
There’s a bunch more improvements in the Mac app, like renaming Artboards on the Canvas, HEIC exports, and click-and-drag support for scrolling areas in prototypes. And of course, a few bug fixes, too.

Version 100 of Sketch is here! It’s a milestone release for us, and we couldn’t have done it without you. To say thanks for all your support, it’s full of updates you’ve been asking for 😎
I feel so lucky to work for a company that ships great things. And to manage a team that creates great things. Great job everyone @sketch 👏🏻. Here’s looking at you 2024 🤗
2023 has been a pretty big year for us, and we couldn't have done any of it without you. Here's a look back at what we shipped this year, and some of the amazing work you created.
We'll be back for more in 2024 — we can't wait to see you there 🚀
It’s sometimes easy to be biased when you talk about your own product, and say how great it is. So when you get a lovely review from the team @Apple you know you have something pretty special going on 💫
What does @Apple love about Sketch?
🪂 It's easy to jump straight in
✏️ Start from scratch, or use one of our ready-made templates
🤝 Real-time collaboration makes creativity a team effort
And that's not all! Find out what else they had to say 👇https://t.co/kM4cJIWCq9
It was great catching up with @melissacash_ and @ryanacash back in 2022. These two are not only some of the nicest people you'll ever meet but they are incredibly talented too. The nomination is pretty impressive, but the win - well that would be🙌. Good luck to you all 🫶
Shoutout to @playpokpok for their App Store Award nomination! 🎉
We had the pleasure of chatting with their talented team of digital toymakers, diving into how they brought Pok Pok to life in Sketch. Read about their journey on our blog: https://t.co/7Kd1U6FwYC

It’s been a long time in the making (the feature, not the video) as we like to do things right at @sketch . First we put it in experimental and then beta so our community could feedback. This neat video walks you through everything you need to know made by the talented @Jatodaro
As well as making Smart Layout available in groups and Artboards, we’ve made a lot of improvements that we think you’ll love.
There’s a lot to cover, so we asked @Jatodaro to walk you through it 👇

I had a vision for our homepage in 2023:
- Make our value prop really clear
- Go feature instead of benefit led
- Create more of a product experience, that’s interactive too
- Feature community work
Luckily I have a great team to execute against it: https://t.co/1J7FV6hNyB
If you're a community-driven product, operating remotely, I got a rare lead for a Community and/or Events position (with strong recommendations) who can help your team grow your reach, DMs are open.
We're on the lookout for a talented and experienced Product Marketing Manager to join my team. Got any questions - let me know. No agencies please. https://t.co/JbhTogu5Ol
We all know that content is king - but in our case educational content that can help every level of user work with Sketch was the missing piece in our mix. We launched last week with our 101 course, and will follow with 102 soon. T…https://t.co/JfEiNC7DcJ https://t.co/1tHgs7oo7V
My last tweet was about how our platform evolves fast, and today we've given our web inspect feature a big boost as well: it now exposes symbols, styles and more even across libraries. Free in the browser, for your entire team with a Sketch subscription: https://t.co/dEL6Z7s24I
I saw the potential in this woman the day I met her, when she came to work in my team as a placement student @inspiredAUB . So happy for you Charlotte but not surprised - I cannot think of anyone more deserving 🤩
And now topping the category amongst a serious class of talent, our Gold Award @CIMinfo Rising Star winner is…Charlotte MacKay from @inspiredAUB! A stand-out contender in a very strong field, congratulations Charlotte! 🏆
Once upon a time, Sketch was looking for an awesome writer full of ideas to join their team ✨
If you’re a creative storyteller and want to help us define our brand narratives, we’d love to hear from you. You won’t even have to kiss a frog, we promise 🐸
