New research from @KingsCollegeLon shows that women with serious mental illnesses (SMI) which required specialist care were more likely to have a ‘near-miss’ life-threatening complication during childbirth. @SandallJane@DrAbigailEaster@kingsmedicine https://t.co/xf6GGkzPu4
@Topshop trying to use my gift voucher online but it has been refused. How are we meant to spend this in a lockdown and when trying to avoid unnecessary visits to the shops! @MoneySavingExp
Ministers underestimate how much the pandemic has played havoc with the complex web of support families rely on, says Janice Turner https://t.co/g6VDs81gJU
Hi @MattHancock, had a facetime with my dad this morning, he can neither hear nor see us, this isn't meaningful contact and is even more confusing for people with dementia. We need more options #rememberdementia#COVID19@JohnCampaign
If you're working in a hospital that currently does not admit the family carers of distressed dementia patients (or waits until they are dying) I'd like you to read this

Just amazed how hospitals ignore @NHSEngland guidance. So depressing and wrong. A distressed mother lwd who has broken hip will do so much better if daughter is there. Delirium is a danger. #aintreehospital Test daughter, give PPE & let her help, surely! @lgoodbu @neilgchurchill
"it’s a stark choice between not seeing your loved one for a while or not seeing them at all, because they’ve died" We fear there may be more than one way in which people with dementia are dying and we need a more thoughtful individualised approach https://t.co/8QjTk3TYVM
A very thoughtful piece by @DaniGaravelli1 exploring the dilemmas faced by #carehome providers and by families. #coronavirus: Could the cure be worse than the disease? | The Scotsman @dtbarron @scottishcare https://t.co/gUUB7LXEGC
The coronavirus pandemic is leaving people with dementia and their carers more vulnerable than ever before - 78% feel lonelier due to the crisis.

A helpful article that hopefully leads to more support for care homes in bringing residents safely back in contact with their family.
How to Manage a Care Home Visit for Those in Exceptional Need https://t.co/TmQvhCys6J via @JohnCampaign
@MattHancock There needs to be a serious review on inequalities that covid-19 has magnified! It’s hitting the most vulnerable of society the hardest and I’m not talking about just the direct impact of the illness. Care home staff and residents have been an after thought.
Urgent review is needed of visiting policies in care homes, particularly end of life visiting. Who is supporting these care homes to get the right balance?? The pain and upset for residents, staff and families is huge

@dementiaUK desperately & urgently seeking advice/ support. My mum has end stages Alzheimer’s & is dying. Care home only allowing 1 family member 1hr when she passes which they obviously can’t accurately predict. This is surely against basic human rights.
