“Meanwhile in Mississippi, enslaved workers kept working. Soon, Douglas would work a third of them to death.” Douglas truly did not care that he was doing wrong. He only focused on his profits with no other care in the world. #AuburnWorldHistory
I find it crazy that Douglas used slavery to help him become rich. It’s so sad that he thought people were so unimportant that he wanted to make money off of their labor. All he cared about was money, he knew he was in the wrong. #AuburnWorldHistory
I thought it was interesting seeing the photos of memorials and the libations ceremony photo. I also thought the photo from the Week of Action March was cool. It’s cool to see how our history has formed the world today. #AuburnWorldHistory
@_BenjaTaylor I agree! This stuck out to me a lot, it is mind blowing how he used slavery for his own advantage. He did not care about them at all. #AuburnWorldHistory
“It was an ideological assault but also an economic assault. To me this is what neoliberalism was about: it was that political project and I think the bourgeoisie or the corporate capitalist class put it into motion bit by bit.” #AuburnWorldHistory
I honestly had no clue what neoliberalism was but this interview did a good job at explaining it. It shows that neoliberalism is more of a concept or idea than a set definition. #AuburnWorldHistory
“... they along with other social movement, forced... a whole set of things around empowering labor even more than it had been before” This formed global threats to power and led to neoliberalism. I had no clue that this is why it formed. #AuburnWorldHistory
@BridgetCatalan9 I agree!!! The uncertainty that went on during the Cold War caused a lot of fear in the people. They never knew what to expect. #AuburnWorldHistory
It’s crazy how intense the Cold War was. I enjoyed watching this video and learning a more personal view of how it was. It was a time filled with fear and horror. #AuburnWorldHistory
“Each B52 can deliver a nuclear bomb load of 50 megatons equal to 16 time the total explosive force of all the bomb and shells used by all the armies in WWII”Its crazy how powerful the nuclear bombs are. They are definitely scary weapons. #AuburnWorldHistory
“I want you to remember one thing, the folks back home is counting on ya and by golly we aren’t going to let them down” This shows how dedicated our air force is to our country along with the others who fight for America. #AuburnWorldHistory
“1884, fast forward to 2019 and nothing has changed. This tragedy that was put in place to see to it that Africa and her children are forever defeated.” Dr. Arikana #AuburnWorldHistory
“And when the African countries lose, the world stands back and says what’s wrong with you African countries.” She says this in contrast to the boxing example and that Africa is always thrown into the heavy weight and they are getting beat #AuburnWorldHistory
In this video Dr. Arikana compares the world to a boxing game. She says that in boxing heavy weights belong in the heavy weight category and vice versa. She says you don’t mix weight classes and is comparing this to Africa and countries. #AuburnWorldHistory
“Black nationalist women during the 1940s practiced ‘community feminism’ by engaging in various political and social activities that sought to advance racial uplift and empower black women in the organization and in the broader community” #AuburnWorldHistory
“Women entered the labor force in record numbers to replace the men who had gone to battle” This shows how powerful women were especially women of color for taking the role of the men even when they had problems of racial inequality . #AuburnWorldHistory
@abrnstudentmeg I had never heard this either! It stuck out to me and showed how important the women of color were to this part of history. #AuburnWorldHistory
“The bleeding would of Africa is wide open” This quote is very powerful. It shows how much Moody wanted blacks to become more than the world thought they were. She said that they had to heal their own problems and stand up for themselves. #AuburnWorldHistory
