Our museum has been closed for a number of months for renovations. We're pleased to be reopening our doors from Friday 28th of May. If you're in Carnamah or nearby we invite you to join us for morning tea at 10am.
Wheat Convoy, a 1940s promotion in Sanitarium corn flakes during the Second World War. To win, you need to roll the dice to move past agricultural and wartime challenges to grow your wheat and get it to London. We have a copy in our collection, as does @nlagovau
The Shire of Carnamah has a new logo! 'unlocking the past' was inspired by the Midland Railway Company's 1910s 'unlocking the land' slogan; and the key closely resembles the shape of the shire, which stretches from farms in Carnamah, through Eneabba and to the Indian Ocean!
A few local receipts from 1939-40, donated to our museum by Wendy Le Get from the archives of the historic Koobabbie Farm in Waddy Forest. A great deal of the farm's 115 years of records are being split between us and @statelibrarywa
Our many thanks for the long, significant and continuing contributions of Brian Mortimer and @ABowmanBright, who were made Life Members of our society on Australia Day.
We'd like to wish one and all a very Merry Christmas and a safe, happy and healthy new year. This great shot is of Betty and Eric Gurr's daughters in the front yard of the stone house at 5 Macpherson Street in Carnamah, taken in the 1940s.
