It's wild every time litigate these things.

Their age is completely irrelevant to anything. A 16 year old breaking into your home is no different than a 26 year old. You are in danger and they are a violent actor. Normal thieves no longer break into populated homes in the middle of the night. They loot stores.

There's no reason pepper spray should be illegal. No one has ever used pepper spray to go on a killing spree. The fact that it's illegal to carry pepper spray in the UK suggests the purpose of their laws is to make it illegal to defend yourself. They want you to live in fear.
