Yesterday was #WorldMicrobiomeDay and I had such a great oppertunity to go to Rome and attend #IHMC2024 last week to learn all about cutting edge science on the #HumanMicrobiome. Some brilliant and insightful research coming from Ireland @APCMicrobiome

Today was an important day for the Bariatric Surgery service in SVUH. Finally opened our dedicated Bariatric Theatre, and performed our 100th bariatric surgery for 2023. Approaching 1000 cases across SVHG very soon😊. Thanks to all involved @svuh, @StColumcillesH1 @OSheaHoganLab

🛌 Avoided admission for 103 patients (estimated 309 bed days saved)
😀 Improved patient experience -100% satisfaction
🏥 Reduced reattendance (4/103 -none due to headache)
