A German national of my acquaintance has just flown into the UK, clutching details of where he intended to subject himself to a 14 day quarantine. He asked with whom he should lodge those details. Nobody knew. He walked through and out of the airport unchallenged.
The government has taken a fully functioning digital voting system which took 15mins per vote in which all MPs could participate and replaced it with a queuing system taking 45mins per vote in which only 2/3 of MPs can participate. Not a great advert for government effectiveness.
Democracy died today.
Parliament voted against an amendment to allow shielded and vulnerable MP's to vote remotely.
In effect, the Tory party forced through insanity.
