@gtchatmod When students have opportunites to deveop their leadership skills, it gives students a way to develop responsibility, collaborate with others, and a way for them to value their knowledge and share it with others.
There are enough edtech products out there that serve almost every purpose you could imagine. Where educators need support is effective implementation. Classrooms are complicated. You can’t just throw a shiny new product into them and expect to see change. It isn’t that easy.
When should a coach just listen? When give advice? What do I do if a question doesn't work? Tons of brilliance from two-time TLC presenter @mbs_works in a 3-minute clip https://t.co/KC88edXf7K
Differentiation is the most overused and under-executed term in education. It's overused because it is integral to high-quality teaching. It's under-executed because most classrooms still rely on a one-size-fits-all approach to instruction built on live lectures and fixed pacing.
Ban surveillance advertising! EFF’s technological and legal proposal for a surveillance-free internet.
Important work being done by @doctorow and the @EFF. https://t.co/ARctOJdJeY
I heard this song yesterday, and it struck me profoundly that in this time of giving thanks, this is the perfect song to send to anyone who is working in schools these days. "You're doing a good job:" https://t.co/yvPJBKEoXD
My daughters 2nd grade teacher quit 4 weeks into the school year. Tonight my heart breaks for my son. Friday is his 4th grade teachers last day. He literally loves her. Both leaving the profession. Both incredible teachers. My ❤️ hurts for the kids… & for our profession.
If you are a new reading coach or want to take a free mini course, here is your opportunity! Please share with anyone you feel would benefit, thanks! #StudentCentered@kimberlyhargett@melwillingham @CRJohnson3 @Rochell36729639
The Ridiculousness Of Learning Loss https://t.co/sMFmk64JAX
John and @forbes are wrong about the severity of COVID transmission in schools. Or at least we haven’t seen it in our 90+ schools this year.
He is, however, spot on about how ridiculous the idea of “learning loss” is.
"If we're not using student evidence to anchor our coaching conversations, then we're not student-centered coaching." @SweeneyDiane
Terrific opportunity for our district's coaches to be able to work with Diane today! #instructionalcoaching
I love this message and believe teachers have greater potential to change the world than almost any other group of people. Thank you to teachers, and to those who make their work easier and more effective! #edchat
I didn’t see the President’s press conference. However, elections are the foundation of our country. Please don’t believe unfounded allegations that destroy trust in the process. We must be patient while every legal vote is counted, accept the results and move forward together.
Hoping #UTLeg, @UTPublicEd, @uennews and/or other policymakers approve statewide license purchases for @nearpod & @AdobeForEdu for students & teachers soon!
Utah schools need guaranteed access to these important #distancelearning tools in the coming school year.
