🚨 This is heartbreaking! Sgt. Kevin Lee Lloyd gave nine years to the Marine Corps. He was poisoned by burn pits and is now dying of cancer. His children won’t receive TRICARE or Gold Star recognition. His son has type 1 diabetes and needs an insulin pump costing over $1,000 a month—even with civilian insurance. The Marine Corps lost his DD-214, and the VA falsified caregiver dates to delay benefits. @POTUS, @VP, @DeptVetAffairs, please help! 🇺🇸🙏😢🐻🎗️
Whistleblower Exposes Toxic Work Culture at Engie Energy Access Kenya Under Leadership of Country Director Fredrick Tabu Noballa
A former senior manager at Engie Energy Access Kenya (previously known as Mobisol Kenya) has come forward with allegations of a toxic work environment perpetuated by the company's Country Director, Fredrick Nobala.
The whistleblower claims that the once-coveted employer has drastically declined in employee satisfaction and ethical management practices since the company's acquisition by Engie Energy Access in late 2019.
Mobisol Kenya was a highly respected employer until the takeover by Engie Energy Access and the appointment of Fredrick Nobala.
According to the source, Nobala's leadership style has been detrimental to employee morale, leading to the resignation or dismissal of nearly all senior management, including heads of HR, Finance, Customer Experience and Sales.
"Hello Cyprian, I am a former employee of Engie Energy Access Kenya/ Mysol Kenya. To be precise a former senior manager and I want to tell you about this company's toxic work culture. The company used to be Mobisol Kenya before it was bought by Engie Energy Access in the late 2019. Before that it used to be the best employer that everyone envied until things took a turn when it was bought by Engie Energy Access which is a global company and hired one Fredrick Nobala who is the Country Director. That's where things took a turn. I hear he used to work for other companies but in some he was fired because of his toxic work culture. This country director is full of himself and treats everyone including senior managers as shit. As we speak all senior employees either resigned or we're fired. That is HR, Finance, Customer Experience, Customer Finance, Sales/Commercial managers etc. We used to attend meetings which he called stand up meetings. In these meetings, we could literally stand the whole time till the meeting gets done with. I remember sometimes back a senior member got tired and tried to sit down. She saw fire. In his words, who told you sit, if you tired, get out of the meeting.
Sales/Commercial Team
The guy makes the sales team work from Monday to Sunday 8am to 10pm at times till 11pm 7days a week, 365 days a year. These sales people have no off days. Remember, they double up as technicians who also install the solar systems for customers. He doesn’t understand that installations shouldn’t be done past 6pm, neither should customers be contacted for assessments past that time. He contravenes every law and says he is the law in Mysol Kenya. Many agents and managers who have tried to question such working hours or style of management have been shown the door. Sometimes last year, a sales agent from Turkana passed away in the line of duty. This agent died as he was riding the company motorcycle past 7pm from a customers place where he had gone to do an installation. This story was hidden like water under the bridge. No one dared question.
Customer Finance
When the sales team/commercial work till 10 or 11pm, it affects all the customer facing department such as Customer Finance department who also work till 10pm. They used to work till 6pm, later told it's mandatory. Is it legal for customers to be contacted past 6pm according to CAK? You can ask any customer or employee from Mysol, they are assessed/contacted until 10pm. Fredrick Nobala contravenes laws and when we tried to question, you are labelled saboteurs. I always pitied this department as they work from 8am to 10pm daily even weekends and holidays with no overtime but just told you will take an off day within the week. Of what benefit?I hear currently they work 7 days a week, Monday to Friday 8hrs, Saturday 5 hrs and Sunday 8hrs. Where do people work 53hrs a week? How does he expect people to be productive? These people have life after the company as well. Does Labour laws permit that? HR department fear him and fail to question though they know its against the law. This department doesn't have work-life balance.
Customer care
This Fred of guy can shut you in front of senior employees in meetings without respect. Customer care suffer as well, they work the same hours inclusive of Saturday and Sunday and you are told you will take your off days mid week. I'm still questioning how many hours should one work in a week?
Handover team
There are many departments affected as well such as handover team which is also a customer facing department that work from 8am till 11pm,at times 12pm during end months but you wouldn’t dare talk. If you talk, you are fired. This company contravenes many laws and I dont think the government knows or perhaps they know and Nobala has acquaintances in high places. He also cooks books to remain afloat and relevant so his bosses can still retain him. Let me tell you the company has never broken even and they do not pay well in the current market ever since Engie took over.
HR
I remember sometimes back when salaries were to be raised then this Papa of a guy as he is known told the global team that there is no need since employees are paid better according to Kenyan market. If I share with you what he calls better against his own salary, you will be shocked. The HR department don't have an opinion of their own, he is the one who decides who to hire and fire(Conflict of interest) and also does business with his company against the rules. Everyone in the company fear him since he is a small god and gives his relatives higher positions from University to Telesales Manager to After sales Manager among others. To imagine, this is a global company behaving like a start up.
You can ask around former employees because current ones fear victimization. Perhaps the global team of Engie Energy Access are part of it. I wonder if other competitors in the solar industry work under these conditions. I hope this reaches the ones concerned, govt institutions as well respectively.
