It’s 16 December – happy birthday, John Selden (1584-1654)! Selden was a polymath, and much beloved of legal historians: the Selden Society for English legal history is named after him, and so are we. But did you know?… 🧵1/4
@RoseUnwin Stephen. You have my constant admiration. Which doesn’t help except I hope to let you know that I see (only part of) what you do, and I see the (ditto) costs to you. And I see the immense gift to Joey, and the wider community and I’m hugely grateful.
An enthralling exhibition in an equally impressive venue - 18th C Townhouse. Very much worth a detour - thanks @MGooderham for bringing buildings and urban landscape to life so beautifully. Also wonderful to discover the intriguing interiors of @ASMorrigan.

@Liz_ORiordan I’ve just started chemo for her2+ BC. Very interested in how movement/aerobic activity assists during and after. I’d love to hear more/explore the evidence. If the effects are as suggested, seems it should be prescribed alongside the chemotherapy.
@childrenlawyer I was told by Kim Lewison, my then head of chambers, that in fact the advocate initiates the bow to the judge, as representative of the crown, who then returns the bow. I’ve aimed to bow first ever since.
@MaryjaneFurniss@BarbaraRich_law@benmrowe@VictoriaPeckham My mother was the same and although Scottish had a Yorkshireman for a father so I like to think she qualifies of a member of this impressive group of women for whom hard work and sacrifice where needed for their family was all.
