I’ve lived in the Financial District for 21 years and have seen A LOT. Today has easily been the most crowded and the most joyous. God, I love this city. New York forever.
I don’t know about my favorite crying spots in NYC but my most used are definitely:
-Court St (BK)
-W. 23rd St
-14th St
-the 2/3/E trains
-the Seaport
-Lexington Ave.
-W. Broadway b/t the Odeon & Balloon Saloon
-Greene St
-6th Ave (Soho)
Here to admit that the copy of House of Leaves I bought 26 years ago is still sitting unread on my bookshelf. I suspect I’m getting close to having the bandwidth to dive in but clearly not there yet!
Sending love to all cat parents currently on poor sleep due to the hourly opera and daily hairballs that the warmer weather season brings. We’ll get there, guys!
I will literally pay my neighbor to stop having loud speaker phone convos in the hall at all hours and letting her door slam. On the same token, my cats are treat monsters and scream their fool heads off at 7am every day. So I guess all is fair in NYC and thin walls.
they don’t talk about canned soup the way they talk about wine. like, how long ago were these noodles and rice cooked? what were the vibes when they chopped these tomatoes and carrots? i dunno. the mind waunders.
I was almost fired from a job in the late 90s for displaying a bumper sticker that said “Cyberspace Scared Me So Bad I Almost Downloaded In My Pants” at my desk. Not saying I was right but it was definitely hilarious.
I’m old. I dunno that a fancy bag would do it but I sure as shit would welcome a few stacks to put in one of my myriad bookstore tote bags, and then I’d be on my way.
