Amazing first day at #CS2023 for members of our #CarriProject team. @ProfPHaygarth opening the day with a very thought-provoking panel discussion on the implimentation of governance and policy in #catchments.
Prof. Marc Stutter giving a keynote for the afternoon session "Land to Water contaminant loss", presenting work on #phoshorus#riparian#mitigation strategies.
200+ scientists, advisers, agri industry, farmers & govt officials gathered for latest on water catchment science #CS2023 I'll be chairing a panel discussion with MEP @ColmMarkey Thomas Ryan @tirlan_ , @ProfPHaygarth Lancaster University and Dr David Wall @Teagasc.
The #CarriProject team had an amazing time in Umeå and Krycklan. Thanks for the amazing #KrycklanSymposium and the insightful and inspiring #riparian workshop. We also had a successful field campaign collecting #soils from 3 different riparian zones within the Krycklan catchment.
Join us at #IPW10 in Dundee, Scotland in Aug 2024.
Abstract submission is open now till Dec 2023. Our sessions have a focus across key current topic for understanding, managing and transforming P systems. Check our our Website:

Past informs the future…colourful mottles depict the history of water, chemical conditions and landscape context in this #riparian UK soil. Together with our biogeochemical analyses and experiments, this helps us predict altered cycles of nutrients with #climatechange
The #CarriProject team finished installation and soil sampling at 2 out of 3 #riparian observation sites in #LakeDistrict. Looking forward to a second visit soon to finish the last installations. Thanks to @ProfPHaygarth@ProfJessDavies for the support and great field assistance.
This new paper shows a need for improving C stock and reactivity estimates in riparian wetlands, across catchments and countries and representing them in scaling frameworks. @CarriProject is tackling this.
📢New paper alert! https://t.co/guxZGPvzHQ
Happy to share our new work is out in @NatureComms! We put forward a framework to improve bottom-up estimates of land-atmosphere carbon exchange by integrating terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. @GRIL_Limnologie@CarBBAS@IEA_UdG
