"Wishing all fathers and father figures a blessed #FathersDay. May St. Joseph intercede for you, that God may fill you with grace to lead your children with faith, courage, and loving care along life’s journey." (Cardinal Cupich)
Happy Father's Day!
On D-Day, more than 160,000 Allied troops crossed the English Channel to begin the liberation of Europe. Among them, 4,414 made the ultimate sacrifice, including 2,501 Americans.
Today, we remember their valor and reflect on the price of freedom.
The people of Normandy showing up for our World War II veterans! What an honor it was to be there with them today! Thank you to the Best Defense Foundation for all you do for our Greatest Generation 🙏🇺🇸
The heroes who stormed the beaches of Normandy to fight against tyranny must never be forgotten.
Generations have enjoyed freedom thanks to those in uniform and all who helped.
On the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, and always, we continue to remember and honor their legacies. 🇺🇸

Friends, today marks one year since the election of Pope Leo XIV.
Please join me in thanksgiving for our Holy Father, praying that God will continue to strengthen and guide him in his leadership of the Church.
Our community continues to be devastated by the murder of Police Officer John Bartholomew of the 17th District, who was killed in the line of duty at Swedish Hospital. As an update, I want to share a way to support his family during this incredibly difficult time.
Please consider donating to the GoFundMe established for his loved ones. The link has been verified by the 17th District Police Commander, so you can give with confidence.
I have always stood firmly in support of our police officers, who put their lives on the line every day to keep our city safe. I hope our community comes together to show our gratitude and stand with Officer Bartholomew’s family in their time of pain.
Every contribution makes a difference.

After being shot in the head the night before at Ford’s Theatre, President Abraham Lincoln breathed his last breath at 7:22 am, 161 years ago today. Secretary of War Edwin Stanton famously remarked “Now he belongs to the ages.” We honor him at the Lincoln Memorial. #WashingtonDC
