@BryanTolland @R0Poem @gfpaterson Ian Whittaker, an actor in Carry On Sergeant, and many other British films, did win an Oscar for Set Decoration on Howard's End in 1993. He was remembered in the awards show of 2023, after he passed away the previous year.

Very sad to hear that comedy writer and 3 time Carry On contributor John Antrobus has passed away aged 92. Such a lovely, talented man. Rest in peace John.

Very sad to just learn that playwright Sir Tom Stoppard has passed away. The Oscar winning writer of Shakespeare in Love was 88.

Sorry to hear that former Top Gear host Quentin Willson has passed away, after a short battle with lung cancer. He was so warm and friendly when I met him several years ago. RIP Quentin.

I was saddened to realise that 4 of the 6 people in the photo passed away within the past 12 months; Prunella, Timothy West, Patricia Routledge and Brian Murphy. What a lousy year it's been.

Following the sad death of Prunella Scales on Monday, I was looking at some pictures from her past performances, and came across this one from 1985's London production of J.B. Priestley's "When We Are Married".

Sad to hear that actor/stuntman Derek Chafer passed away on September 3rd. Best known by Star Wars & Doctor Who fans, he appeared in Carry On Behind, in the opening lecture scene. I was honoured to be able to chat with him at an event in London, a few years ago. Such a nice guy

How bizarre is it that two actors who played the same character IN THE SAME FILM both pass away within 3 weeks of each other? Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter was played by Horst Janson and voiced by Julian Holloway. Rest in peace Captains.

Nasty man working the door at #McDonalds in Leicester Sq. Despite being able to order food at your table, don't try going downstairs to the seating area, without first ordering your food. As the toilets are also downstairs, it's his perverse pleasure to stop non-diners using them

So very very sad to hear that five-time Carry On actress (Teacher, England and 3 TV Laughing episodes) Diane Langton has passed away. She was always so delightfully bubbly, both on screen and off.
