This Cocke County team traversed…
-the death of a player this off-season
AND
-the loss of one of its top players and leaders late in the regular season
…and still emerged with its first district tournament title since 2013.
That, folks, is what we call fortitude. 👏
Tonight, the Cocke County basketball programs honored the late Hayden Carter as part of their introductions in Big Red Madness.
CCHS players carried Carter’s No. 10 jersey with them during intros.
Also, half of the money from tonight’s donations (which served as admission) will be given to the Hayden Carter Memorial Scholarship Fund.
“Her memory will live with Cocke County basketball forever.” ❤️🏀
