@WillieTheTiger @AceCouncilsturd Considering we have the most nationally televised games every year along with our viewership ratings I’d say it’s safe to say we are and will always be at the top of the CBB world.

Tonight’s #KUCancerFighter dedication is a special follow-up tribute to an incredible Jayhawk who courageously battled kidney cancer for more than 20 years before finally passing away this past summer.
Darren Kaye, a 1994 KU grad, from Buffalo Grove, IL was only given 54 years on this earth but he made every one of them count. Some of his happiest days were spent on Mount Oread where he earned a psychology degree and was a member of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. Both then as a student, and throughout the rest of his adult life, one of Darren’s biggest passions was cheering on his alma mater. He had many favorite ‘Hawks but Paul Pierce was probably his #1 favorite.
Darren made Jayhawk fans out of his whole family and even sent one of his two sons to study here as well. So, when he passed away in July, Darren’s wife & son made plans with Darren’s best friend and fraternity brother to come watch his beloved Jayhawks take on Houston in what they figured might be the biggest game of the year. They wanted to be here to represent Darren and try to bring that same special energy he always delivered on gameday.
So tonight, the Kaye family & Darren’s best bud are here honoring Darren’s life, legacy and memory. We’re honored to do the same and thrilled to tell you a little bit about his love of KU, his passion for Kansas Basketball and all the lives he touched along the way. Tonight’s call is for you, Darren. Rock Chalk forever, brother. ❤️💙😇
@ttu2bsandaball@aamartn@JonRothstein Ur 2 point guards that you rotated still got yall 14/6/7 I’d say the issue wasn’t a point guard thing. It’s ok to admit it would have been a loss with or without Anderson.
@RCMB323 Watts had 19/12/5. I’d still say u had “all American” production from someone other than toppin. Anderson was announced out and spread stayed at -4.5 for u guys. Loss is a loss Kansas is just the better team.
@ttu2bsandaball@aamartn@JonRothstein Efficiency wise we played our worst game of the conference season and with Anderson out it gave other guys like Watts and opportunity to shine and he had 19/12/5 which is similar if not better of whatever Christian Anderson would have put up. Also a road game in ur Super Bowl. L
Tonight’s #KUCancerFighter tribute celebrates the life of Darren Kaye, a loving husband & father of 2 from Buffalo Grove, IL, whose courageous fight with kidney cancer ended earlier this summer at the age of 54. When Darren was originally diagnosed over 7.5 years ago, he was given only a small chance of living a few years, but in true Darren fashion, he defied those odds, fighting with determination & incredible strength.
Darren’s greatest joy was being a husband & father, and every decision he made was rooted in his deep love for his family. One of his lifelong passions was the University of Kansas. KU wasn’t just his alma mater—it was a community that shaped him & gave him lifelong friendships that he cherished deeply. Darren’s pride in being a Jayhawk was immeasurable. His wife recalls him always carrying his KU ID in his wallet and always proudly showing it off to prove he went to KU. His Jayhawk pride reached new heights when his son Carson chose to follow in his footsteps and attend KU as well. Darren was over the moon, knowing that his legacy & love for KU would continue through his son.
Darren’s story is one of perseverance, loyalty and love. Though his time was cut far too short, he left a legacy of strength, humor, and his devotion to all things University of Kansas. His family in confident that legacy will live on through Julie, Carson, and Landon, and through the many KU friendships and memories he made throughout his life. Kaye Family, tonight’s call is for you & dedicated to an all-time great Jayhawk. ❤️💙
